Showcasing the different practical approaches towards securing a good job and career, Maryknoll College of Panabo Incorporated recently conducted its 2nd pinning ceremony, themed “From theory to practice: Reaching new heights through work immersion.”

In preparation for the upcoming work immersion for grade 12 students, MCPI invited Mrs. Nova Mae Padonia-Jacalan, an alumna of Maryknoll College of Panabo as the program speaker and shared valuable insights on how to excel well in a workplace.

β€œIt only takes 30 seconds to make a good first impression, so sa greetings pa lang, dapat confident namo.” Mrs. Padonia-Jacalan said in her remarks.

During her speech, Mrs. Padonia-Jacalan highlighted the importance of treating coworkers with kindness.

β€œThere are really people that annoy us, you will encounter a lot of these people in the workplace and the best way to handle it is to treat them with kindness.” Padonia-Jacalan added.

Moreover, parents expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the school for allowing the students to undergo work immersion, as this would help their children be prepared in the workfield.

β€œThankful ko sa school kay much better jud para sa mga students na makakat-on sila ug ingon ani para sa ilahang future.” Mrs. Eveleyn Grecia, a parent of a grade 12 student from St. Zachary, said in an interview.

Students were also given a time to express their thoughts on the upcoming work immersion.

β€œImportante ang work immersion para naa mi prior knowledge if unsa ang angay buhaton sa workplace ug unsay dili angay buhaton. Also, para naa sad mi ma-learn na ma-gamit namo for future purposes.” said Alexandria Nicole Abrajano, a grade 12 student.

The work immersion, with its purpose to hone the skills of students and apply their learning to real-world experiences, is set to launch its first batch on October 7, 2024.
