As we journey deeper into Holy Week, today April 14,2025, we pause to reflect on the meaning of 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲—a day of deep contemplation and cleansing of the heart.
On this day, we recall how 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔 𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝑱𝒆𝒓𝒖𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒎, driving out those who turned a house of worship into a place of profit. This powerful act symbolizes the purification of our souls, 𝒂 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒔, and to prioritize spiritual truth over worldly distractions.
Holy Monday challenges us to examine our inner selves. 𝘈𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘰𝘥’𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦? 𝘋𝘰 𝘸𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦, 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴?
As Maryknollians, let us spend this day in 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, turning away from noise and turning toward God’s grace and holiness. May we allow the Lord to renew what is broken and strengthen what is faithful in us.
