Empowered Educators, Enriched Minds! 🌟

From May 27–29, 2025, the dedicated English teachers of Maryknoll College of Panabo, Inc. took part in a meaningful and transformative 3-day Camp Workshop hosted by SIBS/Phoenix Book Company at the serene and beautiful Bali-Bali Resort, Samal Island.

The workshop featured insightful sessions led by expert speakers. Ms. Irish Fidel shared her expertise on The Sounds of English, Speech Matters I: Prosodic Features of English, and Speech Matters II, a comprehensive English program for Grades 7 and 8. Teachers were also inspired by guest speaker Mr. Hezekia Louie Zaraspe, MA, who sparked creativity through his engaging discussion on Creative Oral Interpretation and Speech Matters III for grade 9.

Participants received hands-on training through an LMS Overview facilitated by the Phoenix SIBS IT Department, equipping them with the digital tools essential for modern teaching.

Beyond the sessions, the teachers also enjoyed interactive engagement activities such as promotion of sales, reader’s theater, and impromptu Q&A portions—bringing fun, collaboration, and practical application to the experience.

Another highlight was the opportunity to connect and socialize with fellow educators from other schools in Davao City and Iloilo City, all sharing the same passion and commitment to programs that help students improve in English and speech communication.

Adding depth and guidance, Mr. Philippe Jose Hernandez led both the opening and closing orientations and offered valuable consultations to support schools in implementing these enriching programs.

A heartfelt thank you to all the speakers, facilitators, and educators who made this event a true success. Together, we continue our mission of shaping confident communicators and empowered learners! 🍎✨
