As Holy Week continues to unfold, we pause and reflect on the meaning of 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, April 16, 2025, a day marked by 𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒘, 𝒉𝒖𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒘𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒅𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒚. 
This day is traditionally known as “𝐒𝐩𝐲 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲” because it commemorates the moment when 𝐉𝐮𝐝𝐚𝐬 𝐈𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐭 secretly conspired with the chief priests to betray Jesus in exchange for 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘳𝘵𝘺 𝘱𝘪𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘳 (Matthew 26:14–15). The “spy” in the midst of the disciples serves as a powerful reminder of the consequences of turning away from truth and the importance of staying 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒇𝒖𝒍 even in moments of darkness.
As we move closer to the Passion of Christ, may we take this opportunity to examine our hearts, renew our commitment to truth, loyalty, and love, and seek God’s mercy for the times we, too, have fallen short.
Let this day stir in us a renewed desire to walk faithfully with Christ in His journey to Calvary.
