𝐌𝐂𝐏𝐈 𝐎𝐁𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐄𝐒 𝐀𝐒𝐇 𝐖𝐄𝐃𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐃𝐀𝐘: 𝐀 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐑𝐄𝐅𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐀𝐋 ✝️✨
As we begin the sacred season of 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐭, MCPI joins the Christian community in observing 𝐀𝐬𝐡 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, a solemn reminder of our mortality and call to repentance. On this day, we receive ashes on our foreheads—a powerful symbol of humility, renewal, and our journey back to God.
Rooted in ancient Christian tradition, Ash Wednesday marks the 40-𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫, inspired by Jesus’ fasting and prayer in the desert. The ashes, made from the 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫’𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐦 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, serve as a call to conversion, reminding us to “Repent and believe in the Gospel” (Mark 1:15).
We invite 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 to take part in this meaningful celebration and embrace the Lenten season with hearts open to prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Let us walk this path of faith together as we prepare for the joy of Christ’s resurrection.
