Showcasing the different practical approaches towards securing a good job and career, Maryknoll College of Panabo Incorporated recently conducted its 2nd pinning ceremony, themed “From theory to practice: Reaching new heights through work immersion.β
In preparation for the upcoming work immersion for grade 12 students, MCPI invited Mrs. Nova Mae Padonia-Jacalan, an alumna of Maryknoll College of Panabo as the program speaker and shared valuable insights on how to excel well in a workplace.
βIt only takes 30 seconds to make a good first impression, so sa greetings pa lang, dapat confident namo.β Mrs. Padonia-Jacalan said in her remarks.
During her speech, Mrs. Padonia-Jacalan highlighted the importance of treating coworkers with kindness.
βThere are really people that annoy us, you will encounter a lot of these people in the workplace and the best way to handle it is to treat them with kindness.β Padonia-Jacalan added.
Moreover, parents expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the school for allowing the students to undergo work immersion, as this would help their children be prepared in the workfield.
βThankful ko sa school kay much better jud para sa mga students na makakat-on sila ug ingon ani para sa ilahang future.β Mrs. Eveleyn Grecia, a parent of a grade 12 student from St. Zachary, said in an interview.
Students were also given a time to express their thoughts on the upcoming work immersion.
βImportante ang work immersion para naa mi prior knowledge if unsa ang angay buhaton sa workplace ug unsay dili angay buhaton. Also, para naa sad mi ma-learn na ma-gamit namo for future purposes.β said Alexandria Nicole Abrajano, a grade 12 student.
The work immersion, with its purpose to hone the skills of students and apply their learning to real-world experiences, is set to launch its first batch on October 7, 2024.
