β€œThe priest is not a priest for himself. He does not live for himself, work for himself, or offer the sacraments for his own benefit. He is for othersβ€”for the Church, for the people, for Christ.”

β€” Saint John Mary Vianney

Today, we celebrate and give thanks for the gift of the priesthood, and for the priests who serve among us with faithfulness, humility, and love. In every corner of the Diocese of Tagum, in each parish, mission station, chapel, and community, our priests live out their sacred calling with quiet strength and joyful sacrifice.

They are spiritual fathers who bring Christ to His people, not only through words and sacraments, but also through presence and compassion. They accompany us in our woundedness and walk with us toward healing. They bless our beginnings, guide us through trials, and remain with us even in the final hours of life.

In a world where it is easy to be weary or discouraged, they remain steadfast, not because the path is easy, but because the calling is divine.

To our beloved clergy, thank you for allowing yourselves to be vessels of God’s mercy. Thank you for standing at the altar each day, for kneeling in prayer for your flock, for embracing a life not your own. Your vocation is a light to our communities and a living witness to the love of Christ.

As we celebrate you today, we also pray for you. May God renew your strength, deepen your joy, and bless your hearts with the peace that comes from serving Him.

Happy Priests’ Day to all our dear priests in the Diocese of Tagum. Padayon sa misyon!
